Iowa Health - Des Moines is the sponsor of The Reserve on Walnut Creek, a housing alternative for independent people age 60 years and older with middle to upper income. The community is located just north of Hickman at 2727 82nd Place, on a little over five acres of land.
The Reserve is barrier free and has sound resistant walls and fire rated construction. Residences have full size kitchens, terraces, one or two bedrooms and one or two bathrooms. Size of the residences range from 700 square feet to over 1,600 square feet. The financial structure includes a one time entrance fee and or supplemental fee that is returned upon transfer to another qualified resident. There is a monthly charge associated with each plan that is determined by the square footage.
The Reserve features a community/dining room, private dining room, coffee shop, home theatre, hobby shop, craft room, wellness area with a whirlpool, library area, guestroom, and under-building tempered parking with individual storage areas. A game room, beauty/barber shop, sun room, a second guest room, multi-purpose room and ballroom are being added in Phase II. Also included are a 24-hour emergency response system, entry security, scheduled transportation, and optional dining. An executive director serves to coordinate activities and building management.
