A quiet celebration of independent living for active adults sixty years of age and older has been going on every day since Washington Square
Retirement Community opened to the first residents in 1977. Conceived, and still managed today as a not-for-profit corporation guided by a local board of Hinsdale community leaders, Washington Square was designed to offer a comfortable transition from home ownership to a more carefree, manageable lifestyle.
You can walk to local shops, doctors' offices, the village library, the post office, drugstore and church services. With that kind of convenience, there's no need for a car at Washington Square. Bus service is available for doctor appointments, shopping, visiting friends and family or for special day-trips planned by the Activities Director.
There are no strangers at Washington Square. With only 71 apartments, you live in a friendly, personal atmosphere, yet your privacy is respected. And your needs always come first. A full-time executive director and staff see that each resident is comfortable, cared for and enjoy retirement to its fullest. For reassurance, an on-site security person is available if needed.
Washington Square is a community of lively, active residents. While some residents are always on the go, others prefer a more relaxed pace. Whatever your lifestyle, there's a place for you at Washington Square.
At dinnertime, you enjoy the company of friends, neighbors and family, while being served a delicious meal in the comfortable dining room, overlooking a garden patio. Your guests are always welcome to join you, or you may wish to prepare meals in your own completely equipped kitchen. Convenience, security, independence — you will have them all at Washington Square.
