The nice thing about this facility is that they have assisted living on the first floor then skilled nursing care on the 2nd and 3rd floor. There is a primary care physician in the front section of this community and since I needed to get a new doctor for my mother anyway, it all seemed to come together. We opened our doors on May 5, 1973 and after 35 years we’re still offering the same quality service. Westwood Horizons is a single location active retirement facility in Southern California that has been family owned since its inception. Westwood Horizons is located one block from the UCLA Medical Center, in the heart of Westwood Village.

Our safe and secure environment, beautiful décor, fine dining, superb accommodations, terrific amenities, and an outstanding activities program are but a few of the reasons that our residents are so content – and so are their families.

Residents enjoy intellectual and stimulating lecturers, speakers, book reviewers and UCLA sponsored events. Our exercise program features 5 different exercise instructors, 7 days a week, including chair exercises, Tai Chi, Yoga and our own Walking Club. We boast of over 20 live performances each month. Residents enjoy weekly Candlelight Dinners, and our weekly Summer BBQs on the patio.

Westwood Horizons caters to active INDEPENDENT seniors who enjoy a rich social environment. Our services are extensive, but not to be confused with an assisted living facility. However, when a resident does need assistance, there is an independent care giver office located on the fifth floor with 24 hour staffing.

Amenities and Services

  • Daily housekeeping services: we make your bed and provide fresh linens and anything else you need.
  • All utilities are included. You pay only for your telephone service and cable TV. Antenna service is free.
  • Three delicious freshly prepared meals per day.
  • First and last month’s rent are due at the time of your move-in. There are no community fees.
  • Beauty Salon on the premises.
  • Free transportation on our 33 passenger bus and 15 passenger van.
  • Gorgeous outdoor patio.
  • All apartments are fully furnished. One and two bedroom apartments have pantries with a wet bar and are designed for a small refrigerator and microwave.
